Penrod 2004 - September 11, 2004
Penrod Arts Fair has been a favorite event in Indy for years. This year, Neapolitan joined the celebration with a jazz set on the ISO Stage. It was a gorgeous day! Thanks to all who came see us, including WTPI's Chuck Workman.
Neapoliton Debut at the Jazz Kitchen - August 28, 2004
Neapolitan had a CD Release Celebration at one of Indy's historical greats, The Jazz Kitchen. Thanks to all those who came out to celebrate with us! We had an awesome crowd and a smokin' two-hour set. At our Jazz Kitchen debut, we also debuted some new original tunes, including 'Rhubarb for Rebecca.' 88.7 WICR's Ralph Adams was in the house. It was an awesome night!!
WTPI 107.9 Interview - August 22, 2004
Today, we were special guests on the Sunday Morning Jazz Show with Chuck Workman on 107.9 WTPI. Chuck played our title track, 'Walk in a Dream' and interviewed us about our upcoming CD Release Celebration at the Jazz Kitchen. He began the interview by calling us "the Dynamic Duo" and saying, "This album is so solid! It deserves national attention." THANKS CHUCK!
Walk in a Dream on WTPI - July 25, 2004
As we were sitting at the breakfast table, our original tune 'Walk in a Dream' debuted on the Sunday Morning Jazz Show with Chuck Workman. (A kid-and-parent parade ensued around the table!) Chuck added, "This is quite a CD!" Thanks, Chuck!
Indiana Avenue Interview - July 2, 2004
Benjamin Johnson interviewed Glenn and Betheny on the show 'Indiana Avenue' on 88.7 WICR. The interview went well and was a lot of fun. We addressed questions like, "What is it like to be a husband and wife songwriting team?" and "What was it like to play Indy Jazz Fest for the first time?" Oh yes, and, "What horn players have been your biggest influence?" (CHOKE) Benjamin did a great job. We are still awaiting transcripts of the interview, and will publish some of it when we can! Thanks to WICR for their support of local jazz artists!!
Indy Jazz Fest - June 20, 2004
INDY JAZZ FEST!!! What an absolute blast. The band was made up of Paul Surowiak on drums, Ken Jury on bass, and Bill Lancton on guitar. Bill added so much to the set.
The 45-minute set consisted of a few songs from the cd and a few of the band's favorites, one of which is the old Eagle's tune, "I Can't Tell You Why." We do this tune with more of a smooth jazz feel than the original. It's funny to see the crowd's reaction. It's something like, "That's not what I think it is, is it?" Then by the first verse everyone is singing along and grooving with the band. B sounds awesome on this tune!
Thanks to everyone who came out to the show!
Taste of Tippecanoe - June 19, 2004
The band played at the Taste of Tippecanoe to a crowd that was anticipated to be 40,000+. The air was cool, the food was hot, and the band was swinging. The folks in Lafayette know how to throw a party!
